2026-2027 Company Auditions

BE A PART OF SOMETHING SPECIAL!

Auditions will be held for dancers ages 6 and up to take part in our 2026/2027 productions.

This audition includes roles for The Nutcracker, with performances scheduled for November 28 & 29, 2026 at Century II Concert Hall. Dancers will also be considered for our annual summer Park Performances and other various performance/touring opportunities throughout the year.

Dancers will have the opportunity to work with esteemed Artistic Director, Jill Landrith, who has more than 25 years of experience directing The Nutcracker in Wichita.

Along with performances, auditioning to be part of Metropolitan Ballet will give dancers additional educational opportunities throughout the 2026/2027 season including the opportunity to dance alongside professional Guest Artists. Previous Guest Artists include professional dancers from Dance Theatre of Harlem, Ballet Memphis, Complexions Contemporary Ballet, New Jersey Ballet, and Broadway.

2 WAYS TO AUDITION: Virtual and In-Person

IN-PERSON AUDITIONS - AUGUST 1, 2026

Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before your age group time - listed below. Training requirements can be met at any dance school which provides quality instruction in classical ballet. Please print the forms to download below and fill them out prior to arrival to the audition.

Dates & Times:

Ages 6-10: Saturday, August 1, 2026 from 11:30am-1:00pm
Must be enrolled in one ballet technique class per week with at least one year of ballet training.

Ages 11-14: Saturday, August 1, 2026 from 1:30pm-3:00pm
Must be enrolled in two ballet technique classes per week with at least two years of ballet training.

Ages 15 & Up: Saturday, August 1, 2026 from 3:30pm-5:00pm
Must be enrolled in three ballet technique classes per week with at least two years of ballet training.

VIRTUAL AUDITIONS - SUBMIT BY FRIDAY, July 31, 2026

If you are unable to attend the in-person audition, please submit a video audition to metropolitanballetwichita@gmail.com by Friday, August 1, 2025 at Midnight. 

Please submit the paperwork below along with a video of the following class work:

Filmed from the side view: Pliés, tendus, dégagés, ronds de jambs, grand battement.

Filmed from the front view:  An adagio that shows extensions and balance, pirouettes, petite allégro and grand allégro.  

Please demonstrate pirouettes and fouetté turns on pointe if you are auditioning for a possible pointe role.

Upload your video to a private YouTube channel and email a shareable link with the filled out paperwork listed below to metropolitanballetwichita@gmail.com
